Everything will be done to make your stay as pleasurable as possible and we hope that you will make yourself feel at home. Should you need to contact us though for any reason, we can be reached by telephone and live less than 10 minutes away.
Availability & Prices
If you are looking for a non-standard break, please get in touch and we will try and accommodate your needs. We are able to offer a 15% discount on bookings of two or more weeks duration.
As the cottage is popular with visitors throughout the year and there is no distinct high or low tourist season, we are able to offer a flat rate of £395 per week to everyone, all year round rather than having elevated high season costs.
A week typically runs from Friday (after 3pm) to the following Friday (before 11am).
Short Breaks are also possible from £225, working out at £75 per night:
Friday (after 3pm) to Monday (before 11am)
or Monday (after 3pm) to Friday (before 11am)
1. The hiring of 2 Fountain Cottages constitutes a contract made between us, Mr & Mrs C Gunstensen and you, the hirer(s). The letting of the cottage is on the basis that it will be used solely for holiday occupation by the hirers for the letting period and group number notified.
2. A non-refundable deposit of £100 is payable on booking. Payment can be by cheque or by phone with a valid credit or debit card. A telephone booking will be held for up to 7 days pending receipt of the deposit if paying by cheque.
3. Your reservation is provisional pending payment authorisation / clearance.
4. When payment is authorised you will receive a confirmation and an invoice showing the balance left to pay. This is due no later than 3 weeks before the start of your stay and must be made by cheque, bank transfer or payment card. Payment for last minute bookings (i.e. for bookings that are less than 3 weeks away need to be made in full at the time of booking).
5. Balance payments are able to be refunded if cancellations are made in advance of 3 weeks of the holiday start date.
6. Sorry, we are unable to accept responsibility if you are unable to take up or complete your booking. Visitors are responsible for their own cancellation insurance arrangements.
7. Our normal arrival and departure times are after 3.00pm and before 11.00am respectively. If special arrangements are needed outside of these times, just let us know and we will do all we can to help.
8. You are responsible for the property and we would ask that you take reasonable care of it. All equipment, utensils, carpets and furnishings should be left clean and the property should be left clean and tidy at the end of the hire period. Visitors must report all breakages, losses and damage and pay for them on leaving.
9. The cottage sleeps a maximum of 4 in two bedrooms excluding infants aged 0 to 2 years. In no circumstances must the maximum party size be exceeded. At least one adult must be present in the party. We reserve the right to refuse admittance if these conditions are not observed.
10. One vehicle no longer than a standard family-sized car may be parked directly opposite the middle garage along the fence line so as to not obstruct the drive as this is in permanent use. Alternatively it can be put in the middle garage itself or this used for a second vehicle. Further parking (e.g. for larger vehicles) is available on the hill alongside the pub if needed.
11. Please read the safety instructions and advice on using any appliances within the cottage. There is also a parking plan in the welcome folder. These documents must be adhered to.
12. The use of the accommodation and amenities is entirely at your own risk. We can accept no responsibility whatsoever for injury, loss or damage to yourself, a pet, or any member of your party or to any vehicle or its contents or personal belongings whilst on the premises.
13. Linen, towels, electricity and gas are all included in the property hire fees. We have also added other extras which we hope will make your stay as enjoyable as possible, such as fuel for the stove, should you wish to use it in addition to the central heating.
14. For the safety and comfort of all our guests, NO SMOKING is permitted inside the cottage, and pet owners must be sure that they have read the notes relating to dogs (see under Accommodation) before making a booking.
